Hand skin becomes chapped from frequent hand washing and exposure to
harsh chemicals, work and weather. As a doctor, I wash my hands between
every patient, which causes extreme dry skin and chapping of my sensitive
skin. This cleverly formulated hand lotion moisturizes with glycerin and
protects with dimethicone. It leaves my hands hydrated but not greasy so
it's perfect for use all day long. I keep a tube in my lab coat pocket
and at every sink.
To prevent chapped skin on your hands, you need to moisturize
immediately after washing. You also want to use a product with dimethicone
to act as a protective coating if you get your hands in harsh chemicals
or expose them to harsh weather. Most hand creams and hand lotions are
greasy, making them hard to use during the day. Intensive Hand Cream does
the job for extreme dry skin on the hands, moisturizing and protecting,
without the greasy mess. For severely chapped hands, I also recommend
you soak your hands in tepid water for 5 minutes, towel dry then apply
a heavy, greasy hand cream at night covered by cotton gloves for a real
healing treatment.
